Brief Biography
Judha Purbolaksono, the villager and hard-worker from Ngawi, Jawa Timur, Indonesia, is a chartered engineer (CEng) registered to the Engineering Council (UK), a member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) UK, and currently working with University of Malaya for Department of Engineering Design and Manufacture. After graduating from a high school in Ngawi, he had an opportunity to continue a study for a bachelor degree at University of Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. After struggling extremely hard, alhamdulillah he may complete a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1995. Then, he joined Indonesian Aircraft Industries Ltd. (PT. IPTN/ Dirgantara Indonesia), Bandung, Indonesia as a Fatigue and Fracture Mechanics engineer from 1995 to 1999. In the meantime he completed his master degree in Mechanical Engineering at Institute of Technology Bandung (ITB), Indonesia (in 1998) which was sponsored by Ministry of National Education, Indonesia, through URGE (University Research for Graduate Education) programme. In October 1999, he was awarded a prominent PhD studentship from Queen Mary and Westfield Research Council, University of London, and alhamdulillah he successfully completed his PhD in Computational Mechanics in 2003. Prior to joining Universiti Tenaga Nasional in July 2004, he was working as a visiting researcher at Inter University Center, Institute of Technology Bandung (ITB), Indonesia. He has a number of interesting articles and works in the areas of failure analysis, fracture mechanics, finite element and boundary element, computational structural mechanics and structural modeling. He is a regular reviewer for several reputable journals.
